The Easiest Way to Swing a Golf Club

May 14th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

Part One: How to Stand

Some pros are good at teaching, others are not. The problem is that professional golfers are real athletes, and are usually ‘naturals’. In other words, they know what to do, but not necessarily how they do it, let alone how to tell you what to do. Don’t get me wrong: some pros are brilliant teachers, and these are usually people who are not winning a fortune on the Tour. They have learned to teach.

The thing is that to play golf well, when you have limited time to practice and play, you need a simple swing. We need to be able to repeat it easily, as we are not athletes. Just ordinary guys.

How you hold the club, how you stand

If you stand in the right position and hold the club the right way you are halfway there. If you don’t get these things right you will not hit the ball well.

The first thing about the grip is that it is best for almost all of us to use an overlapping grip. If you are right-handed put the right hand on the grip, then overlap the little finger with the index finger - the one nearest the thumb - of your other hand.

This will feel odd if you are new to golf, but it works. Next, you lower the club to the ground. Look down at your left hand. You should be just able to see the third knuckle. If you can’t you will swing too far out on the downswing, and have to pull the club back into the ball, resulting in a slicing action - the ball curves out to the right, losing lots of length.

Legs apart for a good foundation

How do you actually stand? Stand with your feet apart about as wide as your shoulders. The right foot should be at right angles to where you are hitting the ball - that is straight out in front of you - and the left foot should be turned about 10-15 degrees outward, toward the direction you are hitting.

Now stand up straight, lifting the club up, and make sure your shoulders are square. Then, lean forward, keeping your back straight till the club touches the ground just behind the ball. As you lean forward, so your knees will flex automatically to maintain balance. If they are straight up, then flex them a little. It is important that the knees are flexed and that your arms hang down more or less straight to the grip.

Now, make sure that the weight of your body is on the balls of your toes - not your heels. When you got that right, you are all set!

You need to practice getting in that position, with the grip right, and you are ready. In Part 2 of this article I will tell you the rest of the easiest way to swing a golf club.

USB 2.0 Vs. Firewire is Like Despotism Vs. The American Way

May 13th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

USB 2.0-ism Is Like Despotism

USB (Universal Serial Bus) was designed after the ruling style of David Bowie, the famous 6th century Saxon Despot. His empire was vast, and he subdued his captors with hits like Ziggy Stardust and Blue Jean. His famous demise characterized him as the man who sold the world during a moonage daydream, and was forced to face the strange changes of the wensleydale cheese famine of 581 A.D.

Just like the great 6th century despot, David Bowie, USB uses a similar “Master-Slave” architecture.
If you suddenly have that catchy Depeche Mode song Master and Servant stuck in your head, feel free to pause here and sing it out of your system.
The computer (aka master, aka the unrelenting owner of mankind’s souls, aka David Bowie) determines and dictates all data flow to and from and between all peripherals. Although your despotic computer is pretty smart sometimes, and can even be a benign ruler, it isn’t always the best at controlling the data throughput.
USB 2.0 is also called “hi-speed” USB because it has a theoretical data transfer rate of 480 mbps (”b” here is of course for “bits” and not “bytes”), faster than 6-pin firewire transfer rates of 400 mbps. This of course is a theoretical transfer rate because USB’s tyrannical system of being in charge of controlling data is just plain inefficient (sorry folks, not getting anymore technical than that), making data transfer rates quite inconsistent. In other words, you will never get a consistant transfer rate of 480 mbps over the course of any practical data transfer. The giant philistine turns out to be a slow poke after all.

Firewire Is Like The American Way

Firewire is like the American way (I’m not talking Democracy, or even Socialism) because it uses a peer-to-peer architecture where the peripherals can make up their own minds about who can control the data transfer best. It is a lot like America’s new peer-to-peer way of distributing data… illegally. The same way Americans can download a peer-to-peer file sharing program and share free versions of Ziggy Stardust, Blue Jean, and Master and Servant, firewire allows peripherals to cooperate and decide the most efficient way to trade data.

The Main Event

Warning: The following content is almost completely heresay.
So some people somewhere did some tests with an IDE hard drive to see if USB 2.0 or Firewire would deliver faster transfer speeds. The thing is, if you look online you will be able to find dozens of these comparison tests and all the results are very similar.
In this particular test:

Read Test
5000 files (300 MB total) Firewire was 33% faster than USB 2.0
160 files (650 MB total) Firewire was 70% faster than USB 2.0

Write Test
5000 files (300 MB total) Firewire was 16% faster than USB 2.0
160 files (650 MB total) Firewire was 48% faster than USB 2.0

Take that, you big mean bully.

Router VPN Wireless Spotlight On The Linksys WRV54G

May 12th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

The Linksys WRV54G Wireless-G VPN broadband router will be lover by all those small business that just cannot keep their minds of office aesthetics. Most routers, even Wireless VPN routers look rather boxy and boring, but not this Linksys, actually, this router VPN wireless looks terribly sophisticated mostly because of its silver and angular shape. Still trying to help small companies work fast and better, Linksys offers through this wireless VPN router a very impressive support for approximately 50 VPN tunnels and this way it allows many employers to take advantage of a good internet access even while traveling around the office. In addition, in order to secure their work, it also comes with an extensive firewall.

However, surprisingly, when it comes to security this wireless VPN router is rather short a few points, especially since the WPA support is completely missing, while many other routers have it. Another low point is its maximum throughput that it is not even by far great. This Linksys router has a high price as well, and because of its deficiencies, it becomes a niche product and its target is unfortunately not businesses that search an advanced Wi-Fi security but rather those businesses that search a combined VPN and wireless router.

This Linskys router has the exact case design that you can also find on the Wireless B Media Adapter (from the same manufacturer). You can put it almost anywhere since you can even put it on its short end because it comes with four feet that can be snapped in anytime. In addition, the feet have nice rubber grips that will provide some protections of the legs against scratches of all kinds. If you do not have any place to put it, then how about hanging it? The Linksys wireless VPN router comes with brackets as well that can be used to hang it against the wall. With any choice you may choose, the antenna positioning can be done from both places from 90 degrees to 360 degrees. In addition, if this was not enough, if you’re not getting the right signal in any of the positions you can unscrew the antenna from its device and add another antenna.

Regarding the User’s Guide - if they had made it any more cryptic it would have been similar to the Egyptian signs. Maybe technology is not everybody’s strongest point, meaning that not everybody is that familiar with the subject but still, they could have made it a user’s guide, and not a professionals guide. The quick installation guide they present is not by far as fairy clear as they present it on the commercial and the images should be helpful and not drag someone in complete confusion. The lack of image labeling made the whole guide rather useless. For example, even the router supports other operating systems than just plain Windows; the user guide does not show any explanation on how to configure it using Mac OS X for example. Read more at http://www.howtosetupwirelessnetwork.com

Finally, the router lacks at many points but it only depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend on a wireless VPN router.

Do You Have Microsoft Xbox 360 Problems? Check This Xbox 360 Repair Guide Out

May 11th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

While the Xbox 360 is a great console system there have been many complaints since its release in 2005 to do with hardware errors. The 3 red lights Xbox 360 problem is what most people receive when something goes wrong with their console; this means there is a hardware problem which could be a number of different problems. This repair guide will show you the most common problems and a few possible fixes.

Overheating

The Xbox 360 overheating problem is one of the most common issues; it can be fixed most of the time by simply putting the console in a more open environment. Many people put the console in an enclosed area to save space but unfortunately the overheating issue means it needs more ventilation. There is a so called “towel fix” for the Xbox but this has been reported to be a short term fix and dangerous in the long run!

Cabling problems

Sometimes it is simply that the cable in the back of console is not properly connected; make sure it is firmly plugged in. However it can also mean that the console is just not getting enough power which is much harder to spot and fix.

Hardware failure

This is the scary one, when your console has Xbox 360 hardware problems you can unplug and restart the console and try again and sometimes this fixes the issue but often you will experience the same error immediately or after playing for a time then it will happen again. This can lead to a trip to the Xbox repair centre which is expensive and time consuming.

It is unfortunate that the 3 red lights give so little detail into your Xbox problems and Microsoft have admitted there are some serious flaws in their product but hopefully this repair guide is enough of a tutorial to solve any easy issues quickly.

With more and more people submitting their consoles to be fixed the Xbox 360 repair centers are becoming overloaded and wait times are increasing to months! Not to mention the hundreds of dollars you pay to fix Microsoft’s faults!

Thankfully you CAN fix most of these problems yourself!

Verizon V Cast Mobile TV Offers Entertainment And Sports On The Go

May 10th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

It was only a few years ago that visiting Europeans and Asians complained about the lack of cellular coverage in the US. That situation has greatly improved of course. It was then reported that Americans used their cell phones primarily for voice calls rather than texting or other data services unlike their foreign counterparts. The US now surpasses many other countries such as Japan and Korea in regards to the use of messaging. Clearly, the pattern of how Americans use their cellular devices is changing as the market matures.

With cell phones continuing to add on larger viewing screens and becoming more powerful in general, additional functions such as viewing television have increased in popularity; especially outside of the US. Mobile TV services have continued to expand their offerings and are increasingly available across the US although the number of subscribers to the service remains low domestically.

Verizon V Cast is one of the most prominent mobile television services in the US. It offers subscribers the ability to watch programming from NBC, CBS, ESPN, MTV, Fox, MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon among others allowing users to view programming from both network and cable stations.

Verizon V Cast offers some programming by simulcast so that home viewers can leave their sofa and venture out to an appointment while continuing to watch the end of their favorite show on their cell phone. Other programming is time shifted giving the viewer the option of catching a show they missed the night before during their morning commute or lunch break. In addition, the service provides shows developed especially for mobile devices.

Verizon V Cast was launched in early 2007 and is now a year old. It presently offers over 150 programs in over 50 markets. In order to receive V Cast, a customer must live in an area with service: such as cities from Seattle, San Diego, and Las Vegas, to Indianapolis, Philadelphia, and Fort Meyers/Naples. In addition, customers can view V Cast only on particular phones. Verizon’s LG Voyager, MotoRIZR Z6tv, Samsung SCH-u620, and LG VX9400 are among the capable devices.

Verizon V Cast provides a live broadcast versus streaming video assuring that viewers don’t have the delay common with streaming video services. It makes use of a portion of the UHF spectrum rather than the same signals used for voice calling. Due to this, it operates even in locations where the cellular signal is insufficient, resulting in a much better and consistent viewing experience.

Those who subscribe to the Verizon V Cast service also have access to the program guide as well as a search function to find the shows they want. They can even program their cell phone to send a text reminder of an upcoming favorite. For those with children, parental control features give adults the ability to restrict viewing of potentially inappropriate content.

Verizon V Cast is available in various packages priced from $13 to $25 per month. For those who spend a significant amount of time away from their television at home, this service may be worth the additional monthly expense as it would provide a great way of keeping up to date, while allowing them to enjoy programming they would otherwise miss and keeping them entertained during down time between appointments, flights, and other activities.

How to Put Video on PSP

May 6th, 2008 by joebarnett2765

You have purchased your PSP and the games are great, the sound is great but now you want to know how to put video on the PSP. You will be pleased to know that your psp is a multi functional little machine that is as versatile as the swiss army knife when it comes to multi-media, you just need to know how to do use it.

To put video onto PSP you will need to mess with the file system on your memory stick. The first thing you need to do is put MPEG-4 video files into a folder that doesn’t yet exist on your memory stick. You will need to create a new folder in the root of the memory stick, call it ‘MP_ROOT’, it needs to be called this so don’t be tempted to name it after yourself. In this folder create another folder called ‘100MNV01′, again there is no need for dedications here the folder must be called that! Place all you MP4 files in this folder.

On your computer you will need a piece of software that will convert the files to the MP4 format that your beloved psp will recognize and be able to use. Most of the available converter packages will allow you to drag and drop the files to be converted into their blank window. All your files will be converted to QVGA resolution and you can set the quality level that you feel will be acceptable. Note that the converter will likely rename the converted file so you must take a note of what it has decided to call it.

Plug one end of the USB cable into the PSP and the other end into your computer and prepare yourself for a transfer. Alternatively you could insert memory stick in the slot on your laptop. Your MP4 files should now be copied into the folder we created on the memory card earlier.

Obviously you will now be wanting to play your video on your PSP. Its simple, scroll over to video and open the folder you have just copied the file to, your video files should be listed and waiting to be played, press ‘O’ and your video will start to play right there on your PSP screen. You now have the knowledge to put video on the PSP however it should also be noted that you must stick to the resolution suggested above, the PSP will not play anything other than this resolution.

Your PSP can be heavily modified but they can be fragile little gadgets if you don’t treat them right and you must seek professional guidance and advice before you start to modify it. There are some great resource sites on the internet and with a little searching you can always find what you need.

Tina is an avid PSP fan and an expert tweaker. Everything you need to know about how to put video on psp can be found Here.
